“Ми очікуємо, що іранська підтримка російського війська лише зростатиме у найближчі місяці. Ми навіть вважаємо, що Іран розглядає питання продажу сотень балістичних ракет з Ірану в Росію. Ми також бачили повідомлення про те, що Москва та Тегеран розглядають можливість створення лінії спільного виробництва смертоносних дронів у Росії. Ми закликаємо Іран змінити курс, і не вдаватись до цих дій”, – заявив Кірбі.
Він підкреслив, РФ своєю чергою пропонує Ірану “безпрецедентний рівень військової та технічної підтримки”, зокрема із розробки зброї та тренування військових.
“В рамках цієї співпраці нас турбує, що Росія має намір надати Ірану передові військові компоненти. Москва може надавати Тегерану таке обладнання, як вертольоти та системи ППО. Є повідомлення, що цієї весни іранські пілоти тренувалися в Росії, щоб навчитися управляти Су-35. Це свідчить про те, що Іран може почати отримувати літаки протягом наступного року. Ці винищувачі значно посилили б військово-повітряні сили Ірану, порівняно з їхніми регіональними сусідами”, – пояснює Кірбі.
За його словами, США вважають російсько-іранське партнерство таким, що несе загрозу “не лише Україні, але й для сусідів Ірану в регіоні”.
“Ми поділилися цією інформацією з партнерами на Близькому Сході по всьому світі та збираємося використовувати всі інструменти, які є в нашому розпорядженні, щоб викрити та перешкодити цій діяльності”, – розповів Кірбі.
Він також заявив, що Вашингтон планує створити групу із країн-однодумців, щоб обговорити загрози від російсько-іранської співпраці.
“Ми продовжуватимемо працювати з нашими союзниками та партнерами, а також з ООН, щоб притягнути їх до відповідальності. Ми працюємо з іншими країнами, аби гарантувати, що їхня юрисдикція не буде експлуатована Росією чи Іраном, і щоб запобігти оборонним транзакціям для підтримки цієї діяльності”, – зазначив Кірбі.
